Another wet day for most of Sri Lanka

Colombo (News1st) - The Meteorology Department warns that wind speeds up to 70 to 80 km per hour, maybe experienced over parts of the island today (2 September), particularly over the Northern, North-central provinces and in Puttalam, Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Nuwara Eliya districts. Showers or thundershowers can be expected in several places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces. Several spells of light showers may occur in Anuradhapura and Mannar districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 pm.
