COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Inter-University Student Federation convened a meeting yesterday to protest against the proposed Higher Education Quality Certificates act.
During the meeting, a letter with the signatures of all the members of the student organizations was prepared to be directed to the president. The meeting was attended by MPs Vasudeva Nanayakkara and Nalinda Jayathissa.
UPFA MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara noted that the act will pose a new form of threat to free education. The MP added that with the letter they intend to stand firmly against these harmful acts which would be detrimental to free education in Sri Lanka.
