COLOMBO (News 1st): Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is currently engaged in a tour to India. Yesterday (July 26) he took part in the "Nava Chandika Yaga" offering at the Sri Mookambika temple in Karnataka. He is accompanied by his wife, Maithri Wickremesinghe on this visit. Indian media reports that Prime Minister Wickremesinghe had also visited this temple and taken part in religious observances in 2017. Tight police security was reportedly provided to the temple on behalf of the Prime Minister's visit and only a limited number of people were granted access to enter the temple. Speaking on this visit of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, UPFA MP Ramesh Pathirana said that although they might have different beliefs and intentions in mind, that as per the current situation that they, not even the Gods could help them. He also said that when considering the number of people rallying against him that there is no surprise of him having to turn to the Gods for help. MP Pathirana added that he has his doubts if at least God could save him after all the crimes he has committed.
