Customs Department earns Rs 95mn in fines

Colombo (News1st) - The Customs Department notes that they have been able to earn a sum of  Rs 95mn through raids conducted over the past 6 months. During the first 6 months of 2019, the customs department conducted 26,082 raids and arrested 24,150 persons. The department adds that the value of the liquor, narcotics and other equipment taken into their custody during the raids, exceeds Rs1.35bn.
