COLOMBO (News 1st) - Health Divisions across the country state that the number of oral cancers has spiked within the country.
Senior Professor of Oral Pathology of the University of Peradeniya, W.M. Tilakaratne noted that 4 oral cancer patients die daily in Sri Lanka. According to him, the majority of those who are diagnosed with oral cancers are males.
Professor Thilakaratne further noted that an international forum that discusses research on oral cancers is being held at the University of Peradeniya.
The forum with the participation of several foreign delegates commenced yesterday(July 14) and will be held for 3 consecutive days.
