COLOMBO (News 1st): The suspect arrested at Maharagama who is suspected of being trained by Zahran is currently being interrogated by the CID.
The suspect was arrested at Maharagama following a tip-off to the Police Terrorist Investigation Division (TID). At the time of the arrest, the suspect was working at a clothing factory in the area. The 20-year-old suspect Mohommad Thajudeen Ashif Ahamed has been identified as a resident of Wilepara, Dippitiya, Aranayake.
Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the suspect had undergone weapon training at Blackpool, Nuwara Eliya along with Mohomad Zahran. Further, the suspect had started work at the clothing factory four days ago. He was arrested last morning (July 12) through a joint operation conducted by the Police TID and the Navy Intelligence.
