Avant Grade : Acting IGP orders 8 suspects to be arrested

Colombo (News 1st): The acting IGP has informed the Senior DIG of the Criminal Investigations Department to immediately arrest the 08 suspects named by the Attorney General with regard to the Avant-Garde Floating Armoury. Yesterday (July 5), Attorney General Dappula de Livera ordered the acting IGP to immediately arrest 8 people including retired Major General Palitha Fernando and Chairman of the Avant-Garde Maritime Services Major Nissanka Senadhipathi and produce them before the court. The order was issued stating that evidence has surfaced on offences committed under the Firearms Ordinance, by allowing Avant Guard Services Pvt Ltd to maintain a floating armoury.
