Kilinochchi accident : Another soldier succumbs

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A fatal motor accident that was reported from the Kilinochchi 55th mile post area has claimed the life of another army person last night. Army Spokesperson Brigadier Sumith Athapattu stated that the last surviving army person continues to receive treatment at the Jaffna Hospital. The accident occurred when a truck belonging to the Sri Lanka Army crashed into a train between the Kilinochchi and Murukandi railway stations at around 1.45 pm. Seven army personnel were in the truck at the time of the accident. The fatal accident had occurred as the truck carrying military personnel were headed to collect water. The deceased army personnel include two corporals.
