COLOMBO (News 1st): In raids conducted in both Seeduwa and Raddolugama, the Police Narcotics Bureau seized a stash of heroin valued at over Rs. 2 billion along with two suspects. Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that in addition, they had managed to seize 12kg of ganja, 500 ecstasy pills, a pistol and seven rounds of ammunition. Meanwhile a sum of Rs. 100,000 obtained through drug trafficking was also seized from the suspects. Initially, one suspect was arrested along with 521g of heroin last evening (June 14) when the motor vehicle he was travelling in was inspected at the Rubberwatta junction in Seeduwa. Upon details revealed by the arrested suspect, the other suspect was also arrested in a house inspection carried out in Raddolugama. The arrested suspects aged 29 and 32 years are residents of Kandana and Raddolugama. The suspects are currently detained by the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
