Sisira Mendis resigns from his post as Chief of State Intelligence Service

Colombo (News 1st): National Intelligence Service Chief Sisira Mendis has resigned from his position. Secretary of Defence General Shantha Kottegoda said he received Mendis's letter of resignation. Citing health issues, Mendis stated that he will resign from his post effective June 1st. The Defence Secretary noted that steps are being taken to fill the vacant position. Sisira Mendis testified before the Parliamentary Select Committee probing into the 04/21 attacks on May 29th.
