Colombo (News 1st): Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called on the Anunayake of the Malwatte Chapter of the Siam Nikaya Venerable Niyangoda Vijithasiri Thero.
The discussion between the Prime Minister and the Anunayake was not open to media. However, the premier and the Anunayake Thero expressed these views following the meeting.
The Anunayake Thero said certain opinions on Muslim ministers have been expressed by the Sangha during the past few days, therefore, the Prime Minister was here to specially talk about that. The Thero said what they meant was that the Muslim ministers who were not accused of these allegations shouldn't resign from the government.
Speaking to the media Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said the Anunayake Thero presented good facts about reconciliation. He noted that they are hoping to implement a new program based on the announcement made by the three sects and the Sangha Sabha.
