Dengue on the rise in Galle

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Health states that special dengue eradication programmes will be in effect around the Galle district from tomorrow (June 02) to June 8th (Saturday). Community specialist doctor Prashila Samaraweera of the National Dengue Prevention Unit notes that the number of dengue cases reported from the Galle district in the Southern province has hiked up which has resulted in initiating these programmes. Twenty eight people have died due to dengue within the year while the number of reported dengue patients are 18,740.
