Gazette to regulate private hospitals to follow price reduction of 27 pharma drugs

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Health Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne noted that the Gazette on price reduction of 27 pharmaceutical drugs will be published soon. The minister noted that the National Medicines Regulatory Authority's price control committee would be making the final evaluation. Currently, the prices of 73 medicinal drugs have been regulated by the government. The government purchases 95% of anti-cancer drugs with a maximum tender price of Rs 95,000. The minister finally noted that the gazette to regulate private hospitals is to be published following the reduction of 27 medicinal drugs.
