Expect heavy rains with the dawn of the new year

Colombo (News1st) - The Met. Department predicts that the Sabaragamua, Central and Uva provinces along with the Galle, Matara, and Kalutara districts will experience heavy rainfall of over 50mm today. Heavy rains and thundershowers can be expected in many locations after 2 pm according to the duty meteorologist. In addition, high temperatures can be expected in the North Central and Wayamba provinces along with the districts of Moneragala, Gampaha, Mannar, Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts due to the position of the sun directly over Sri Lanka.
