DRUG BUST : 5 people arrested for possessing drugs

Colombo (News 1st): A woman and 4 other individuals were who were involved in heroin

trafficking were

arrested from different parts of the country

The police stated that they were arrested in Grandpass, Peliyagoda, and Matara. Over 1.125 kg was found in the possession of the suspects. The police further stated that the 27-year-old woman was arrested at Grandpass Madamapitiya junction with 504.54 g of heroin. She will be detained and questioned for 7 days. This order was given after she was produced before the Maligakande magistrate. Meanwhile, a person was arrested in Monaragala for the possession of 1.637 kg of ganja. Police further noted that the suspect was arrested while transporting ganja.

The suspects is a 33-year-old and a resident of Katupotta. He will be produced before the Moneragala magistrate court today.
