Illicit alcohol distillery raided in Akuressa

Colombo (News 1st): Matara Anti-Corruption Unit raided an illicit alcohol distillery in Ihala-Athureliya, Akuressa. News 1st correspondent in the area said the racket which was in operation for over a period of time was raided based on a tip-off from area residents. One person was arrested along with equipment used in the production process. The suspect is due to be produced before the Matara Magistrate court today (March 11).
