Navy finds 323.4kg of beedi leaves in Pesalai sea

Colombo (News 1st): Navy personnel on an Inshore Patrol Craft belonging to the North Central Naval Command found 323.4kg of beedi leaves left behind in the sea area of Pesalai, Mannar. Search operations are being further carried out in the area by the navy. The stock of beedi leaves, which is believed to have been smuggled from India, had been packed in 10 parcels. The consignment will be handed over to the Mannar Police for further investigation.
