Navy arrests 2 with 86.4kg of Kerala cannabis

Colombo (News 1st): A group of naval personnel attached to Fast Attack Craft arrested 02 suspects with 86.4kg of Kerala cannabis during a patrol carried out in the seas north of Point Pedro this morning (Feb 27). The naval craft had initially spotted a suspicious boat movement in the northern seas and had found 86.4kg of Kerala cannabis upon inspecting the suspicious dinghy. The stock of cannabis had been packed into two parcels and it is believed that the suspects had attempted to smuggle them into the country from India. This year the Navy has seized 442.2kg of Kerala cannabis on 06 separate occasions, during special operations conducted in northern seas.
