Govt. not pursuing worse criminals are at large-Vasudeva Nanayakkara

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara also expressed his views regarding the bond scam during a press briefing convened by the Socialists People's front in Colombo today(February 18). He noted that "Makandure Madush" is accused of many crimes including homicide, drug trafficking and theft yet there are bigger criminals still at large. He said that criminals that scammed billions of public funds are ignored. He noted that the police have taken international clearance/warrant to pursue the matter but both the court and police are avoiding and exercise a passive procedure regarding the matter. "What were the steps taken by the present government to bring such perpetrators back to Sri Lanka? Whether its capable or not is an entirely different matter. But what protocols followed by the present government regarding this world-class scam?" he concluded.
