Teachers in Matale felicitated by Minister of Education

Colombo (News 1st): A ceremony to felicitate teachers in the Matale Educational Zone 

was held

today (Feb 9) under the auspices of the Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam

. 1406 teachers of the Matale Educational Zone

were felicitated at the event

.

Speaking at the event, Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said that under the "Nearest School is the Best school" project 1500 buildings

were built and have been

 declared

open. He added that more buildings are being constructed all across the island.

The Minister added that a cabinet paper has

been released

to appoint a committee to supervise not only the teaching and learning methods but also to inspect the resources of each school
