Colpetty drug seizure: Heroin originated from Turkmenistan

Colombo (News1st): Police investigators believe the drug seizure on Tuesday (January 22) in Colpetty originated from Turkmenistan. The investigation has led to two Turkmenistan nationals who Police believe are the masterminds of the operation. Police seized 95 kg of Heroin valued at over Rs 1 billion. Five persons, who are all of foregin nationality including two Americans, were arrested at the time of the raid. Yesterday (January 23), the Police Narcotics Bureau was granted permission by courts to detain and question the suspects.
