Sena strikes Nuwara Eliya

Colombo (News 1st) -  The Sena caterpillar has also been discovered in Theri-paha in Walapane Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya district secretary Rohana Pushpakumara said that the Sena caterpillar was found at a corn farm in Theripaha. The secretary added that necessary steps were taken to destroy this corn cultivation. The first Sena caterpillar in the Nuwara Eliya district was reported from a corn cultivation in Ruwanpura Hatton. The Secretary also said that a special programme has been initiated to destroy the affected crops. The Sena caterpillar is rapidly spreading in number of districts including Ampara, Hambanthota and Anuradhapura.
