Colombo (News 1st) - A heated argument took place between two members of the Madirigiriya Pradeshiya Sabha today.
During the previous local government election, 14 members were elected from the SLPP while the SLFP and the UNP secured 9 and 8 seats respectively. The SLFP and UNP joined forces to take control of the Pradeshiya sabha.
However, during today's meeting, members of the SLFP inquired from the chairman as to whether they will remain with the UNP taking into consideration the political changes that took place in the country.
Following a heated argument, the Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha left the premises. Shortly afterward, the chairman returned to the chamber and began berating members of the SLFP, before leaving the chamber for a second time.
A heated argument that occurred between two members devolved into a brawl.
