Five faculties of the Rajarata University closed

Colombo (News1st): All faculties of the Rajarata University except for its medical and agriculture faculties, have been closed until further notice. Accordingly, the faculties of Management Studies, Social Sciences, and humanities, applied science and technology have been closed. University officials have informed all students to vacate their hostels. The letter further states that the demands of the students have already been submitted to the governing council of the university. All students of the Rajarata University, except those at the Medical faculty, have launched a strike. This is over several demands including the annulment of a class suspension imposed on 16 students.
