2 police officers suspended for accepting a bribe

Colombo (News1st): Two police officers have been suspended for failing to punish a traffic violation and accepting a bribe near the Old Parliament road junction. The Police Headquarters states the suspended officers were a police sergeant and constable attached to a police mobile unit. A Police HQ release says this step was taken after footage of the bribe, which took place on the 26th of this month, was shared on social media and broadcast on several television channels.
