Former Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed congratulates new PM

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Former Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed in a tweet congratulated Ranil Wickremesinghe on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. The tweet reads that "we always knew Sri Lanka would uphold her democratic credentials, and show emerging democracies how the rule of law prevails". It further reads that the country’s military, by remaining in the barracks, has shown it's integrity.
