Colombo (News1st): A notice was issued to UNP Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake today to appear before the Supreme Court on the 7th of this month. The notice was issued over charges of contempt of court, stemming from a recent statement made by the MP on a televised program about the justices on the bench hearing the petitions challenging the dissolution of parliament. The Attorney General has also been notified to appear in court on the 7th. The bench led by Chief Justice Nalin Perera decided to issue notice to Ramanayake after taking into consideration a CD containing the statement made by the MP.
