Colombo (News1st): President Maithripala Sirisena met with the representatives of Tamil National Alliance this evening (December 03). Representing the TNA was their Leader R. Sampanthan, M. A. Sumanthiran, Selvam Adikkalanadan, and Dharmalingam Siddharthan. Secretary of Defense Hemasiri Fernando and officials of the Attorney General's Department also attended the meeting.
Speaking to the media, Leader of the Opposition R. Sampanthan noted that the TNA has requested the president to make an decision about the prisoners.
Sampanthan noted that they have decided to meet once again in two weeks to discuss the ongoing crisis.
News1st correspondents said that Mahinda Rajapaksa and a group of UPFA MPs arrived at the Presidential Secretariat. However, the TNA representatives state that the UPFA MPs did not attend the meeting they held with the President.
