Public sign petition in support of an election

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Several protests were organized across the island demanding that an election be held. The "Pavidi Handa" movement had organized a program to obtain 5 million signatures to demand for a general election this morning (November 29). A program to obtain signatures demanding for a general election was held in Colombo as well. The Satyagraha campaign organized by the Sisu Jana movement demanding an election continued for a fifth day today (November 29). Meanwhile, a protest organized by the local government representatives of the SLPP was held in Ginigathhena demanding for a general election. A similar protest was organized in the Yatiyanthota area.
