"Ranil Wickremesinghe should be in the Welikada Prison"

COLOMBO (News 1st): UPFA's Rohitha Abeygunawardena recalled the Central Bank Bond Scam while addressing the media today (November 26). He said that the CBSL "theft" is the only theft that destabilised the entire country. "Do they even remember Arjuna Mahendran anymore? Who imported Arjuna Mahendran to Sri Lanka? It was Ranil Wickremesinghe who imported Arjuna Mahendran, and who was it that sat him at the helm of the Central Bank? It was Ranil Wickremesinghe. Now Ranil Wickremesinghe is attempting to use parliament to cover up his wrongs." he added. Rohitha Abeygunawardena also spoke of a newspaper article, where Ranil Wickremesinghe has said "appointing a person who was defeated twice as the Prime Minister was a deathblow to democracy". He said that "it is amazing" that Ranil Wickremesinghe is saying it when he has been defeated on 30 occasions as the Leader of the UNP. "Wickremesinghe, who has set a world record by leading a party in Sri Lanka to 30 defeats is now saying that a person who was defeated twice cannot be made Prime Minister," he added. "When you consider the bond scam and the evidence, compared to Basil Rajapaksa, Johnston Fernando, Mahindananda, Udaya Gammanpila or Wimal Weerawansa, Ranil Wickremesinghe should be in the Welikada Prison," said Rohitha Abeygunawardena
