IP Neomal Rangajeewa reinstated

Colombo (News1st): Inspector Neomal Rangajeewa of the Police Narcotics Bureau has been reinstated following an order issued by the IGP. IP Rangajeewa was arrested over the 2012 Welikada Prison Riot and was charged with the killing of 27 inmates. After considering a bail application filed by him to the court of appeal, he was granted bail on two sureties of Rs. 100,000 each on 27th of September. The reinstatement order was given following a request made by the IP to the IGP's relief center on the 19th of this month.
