Ukkuwa murdered inside the Agunakolapalessa prison

Colombo (News 1st) - Department of Prisons state that investigations have begun into the killing of an inmate at the Agunakolapalessa prison. The victim was an inmate who was 39 years old and was sentenced to death for 6 murders in the Hokandara area. A senior prisons official said that the incident occurred yesterday afternoon and it had been carried out by two other inmates who have also been sentenced to death. The victim's name was Sanjeewa who was better known as "Ukkuwa" in the Hokandara area. The inmates who were involved in the killing have been in 2 separate cells. Police and Department of Prisons are conducting further investigations.
