Ranil claims UPFA offer UNP MPs up to Rs 250 milliom to switch sides

Colombo (News 1st) - Ranil Wickramasinghe spoke at an interview with NDTV today (November 01) regarding the political chaos in Sri Lanka. Ranil Wickramasinghe, talking to NDTV stated that Parliament being reconvened is also a victory and that this matter should be solved in the Parliament. He goes on to state that he has more than 113 votes for the restoration of the status quo of the country, and for this, there needs to be a floor test. Ranil Wickramasinghe states that different members of the President's group have offered UNP members varying from Rs. 150 million to Rs. 250 million in order to change their votes in Parliament. He also adds that the international community is urging Sri Lanka to respect democracy. Ranil Wickramasinghe states that he is the Prime Minister until he fails the floor test and until elections are held. He then stated that the Chinese ambassador met with him and inquired details regarding the political situation and also stated that he was meeting with Mahinda Rajapaksa. Ranil Wickramasinghe also commented on the situation of the Colombo Port and the deal with regard to India.
