President commences official visit to Seychelles

COLOMBO (News 1st): President Maithripala Sirisena has landed in Seychelles, commencing a two-day official visit upon the invitation of Seychelles President Danny Faure. President Sirisena was received at Seychelles International Airport by a delegation led by Senior Minister Macsuzy Mondon and the Sri Lanka High Commissioner in Seychelles, Tikiri Herath Gunathilake. The aim of the President’s visit is to increase close cooperation between the two countries in sectors such as;
  • Tourism
  • Fisheries
  • Health
  • Education
  • Maritime affairs
President Sirisena was scheduled to meet Seychelles President Danny Faure for bilateral discussions. The two countries are also scheduled to sign several Memorandums of Understanding for further expansion of bilateral cooperation. President Faure visited Sri Lanka in February 2017.
