Distillery raided in Warakapola

Colombo (News1st): The Police raided a distillery in Amarakonmulla, Warakapola. The raid was carried out last night (September 27) based on a tip-off. The distillery was located in a rented two-storeyed house. A spokesperson to the Police said one suspect was arrested during the raid and another suspect had fled the scene. 1000 liters goda, 60 bottles of illicit alcohol, a three-wheeler and several other equipments used in the production process were taken to police custody. The arrested suspect is due to be produced before the Warakapola District magistrate court today (September 28). Warakapola police have commenced investigations into the incident.
