COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two Sri Lankans that had attempted to smuggle a large sum of US Dollars to Singapore were taken into custody by the Customs Officials attached to the Bandaranaike International Airport.
The suspects aged 31 and 35 have been identified as residents of Minuwangoda and Pamunugama.
US Dollars which had a local value of Rs. 3, 611,140 were found concealed in the bags and trousers of the suspects. Deputy Customs Director Vipula Minuwanpitiya said the smuggled cash had been confiscated while the suspects have been released.
