President to leave for Nepal on Wednesday

COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to leave for Nepal tomorrow to attend the 4th Bay of Bengal Initiatives for Multi-Sectoral, Technical and Economic Cooperation Summit (or BIMSTEC) in Kathmandu. The event is scheduled to commence on the 30th. Leaders and delegations of seven participating countries Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan, and Nepal are to attend the summit. President Sirisena is also scheduled to meet the Prime minister and President of Indonesia on the sidelines of the summit. He will also engage in a tour of Lumbini.
