CORRECTION : Life in prison for tennis ball heroin smuggler

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A woman who attempted to smuggle 3 grams and 150 milligrams of heroin into the Welikada Prison using a tennis ball has been sentenced to life in prison by the Colombo High Court on Wednesday (July 11). The suspect has been identified as a 33-year-old resident of Seevali lane, Borella. The sentence was issued by Colombo High Court Judge Champa Janaki Rajaratna. Previously when we reported this story on the 12th of July we had mistakenly reported the name of the suspect as Champa Janaki Rajaratna. We deeply regret this mistake and tender an unconditional apology to High court judge Champa Janaki Rajaratna.
