Colombo (News1st) - Interpol has issued a red notice to arrest former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran.
The red notice was issued following a request made by the Criminal Investigation Department seeking the arrest of the former governor with regard to a case filed against him, his son in law Arjun Aloysius, and CEO of Perpetual Treasuries (PTL) Kasun Palisena.
Arjun Aloysius and Kasun Palisena were arrested on the 4th of February 2018 by the CID. The duo and PTL are charged with aiding in the criminal breach of trust committed by Arjuna Mahendran in the controversial bond auction on February 27, 2015.
Aloysius and Palisena are currently in remand custody.
