COLOMBO (News 1st); The medical board report concerning the health condition of former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, who is currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital of Colombo while in remand custody, has been handed over to the hospital's Director.

Director of the National Hospital, Dr. Sampath Indika Kumara, said the report will be forwarded to court through the Commissioner General of Prisons.

According to hospital authorities, the medical board comprised 14 doctors who evaluated Rajapaksa's condition.

The development comes ahead of the scheduled hearing tomorrow before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court in the case filed against Shiranthi Rajapaksa over the alleged criminal misappropriation of Rs. 10 million in state funds.

When the case was last taken up earlier this week, lawyers appearing for Rajapaksa informed court that she was unable to appear in open court due to a heart-related medical condition.
