Public Urged To Avoid Selling Vehicles On Open Transfer Documents

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Motor Traffic has urged the public to avoid selling vehicles using open transfer documents.

Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, retired Air Vice Marshal Thushara Indunil Fernando, said both the transferor and transferee should sign the MTA 6 document and submit the relevant copy to the Department of Motor Traffic.

He said the measure aims to curb various illegal activities involving motor vehicles in the country and protect the public from scams.
