Father of Notorious Drug Kingpin Shiran Basik Remanded Over Rs. 30M Money Laundering Case

COLOMBO (News 1st); The father of prominent drug trafficker Shiran Basik has been remanded in custody again until the 22nd.

The order was issued when the relevant case was called before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama.

He was arrested recently by the Central Crimes Investigation Bureau under money laundering charges.

Shiran Basik had purchased a house worth approximately Rs. 30 million in a luxury apartment complex in the Gampaha area under his father's name.

The suspect was arrested following an investigation into this incident.
