Fuel Firms Ordered to Maintain Minimum Stocks

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Power and Energy has issued a written directive to all fuel companies to strictly adhere to their agreements.

Ministry Secretary G.M.R.D. Aponsu said companies have been directed to maintain the required minimum fuel stocks.

Meanwhile, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) said it currently supplies 80 percent of the island’s daily diesel requirement.

The CPC also meets 60 percent of the country’s petrol requirement.
