Woman Injured In Baddegama Shooting Succumbed to Injuries

COLOMBO(News1st);The death toll from the recent shooting in Halpathota, Baddegama, has risen to three following the death of an injured woman.

Police reported that the 64-year-old victim passed away last night while receiving treatment at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital while a 40-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were killed on the spot during the attack, which occurred when individuals in a car opened fire on a group traveling in a three-wheeler.

Police have arrested three suspects, aged 22 and 33, from Kahawatta, Pallebedda, and Hikkaduwa for aiding and abetting the crime. Officers also seized a car and 16 grams and 170 milligrams of heroin during the operation.

Six dedicated police teams are conducting further investigations to track down all individuals involved.
