7,647 Child Abuse Complaints Reported This Year

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Child Protection Authority says it has received 7,647 complaints related to child abuse so far this year.

Director of Law Enforcement at the Authority, Attorney-at-Law Sajeewani Abeykoon, said the complaints include cases involving vulnerability, physical and psychological abuse, and child abuse.

She also said cases of child abuse can be reported to the hotline of the National Child Protection Authority, 1929.
