Medical Board Recommends Former SIS Chief Suresh Salley Remain Hospitalized Until 28th

COLOMBO (News 1st): The medical board of the National Hospital has recommended that former State Intelligence Chief Suresh Salley remain at the Colombo National Hospital for treatment until September 28. 

The Director of the National Hospital, Sri Lanka who appeared before the Fort Magistrate's Court in response to notices issued by the court, informed the court of this while submitting the relevant medical report.

Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris, appearing on behalf of the Hospital Director, informed the court that a fresh medical assessment of Salley’s condition would be obtained by September 28. 

Meanwhile, the Additional Solicitor General informed the court that Salley continues to refuse to provide the passwords to his mobile phone and laptop, claiming that he has forgotten them. 

Taking these submissions into consideration, the Magistrate ordered that steps be taken to access the devices through alternative methods. 

The Deputy Solicitor General also informed the court that the Attorney General’s Department was appearing on behalf of the Director of the National Hospital. 

He explained that the Director was being represented because he is a public servant, while maintaining his previously expressed position that Salley’s hospitalization at the National Hospital was part of a medical conspiracy.
