Supreme Court Ruling on 22nd Constitutional Amendment Expected Today (21)

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Supreme Court’s determination on the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution is expected to be received by the Speaker of Parliament today.

Accordingly, the Speaker is expected to announce the determination in Parliament tomorrow (22).

The Department of Communications of the Parliament of Sri Lanka said time has been allocated for this from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the 24th of September for the debate on the second reading on the 22nd Constitutional Amendment Bill and the Judicature (Amendment) Bill.

The second day of the second reading debate on the 22nd Constitutional Amendment Bill and the Judicature (Amendment) Bill is scheduled to be held on Friday the 25th, from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, a Party Leaders’ Meeting will be held at 9:00 a.m. today to discuss this week’s parliamentary proceedings.

The meeting will be chaired by the Speaker of Parliament.
