Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Claims Fourth Straight Diamond League Javelin Title In Zurich

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lankan javelin thrower Rumesh Tharanga has clinched the men’s javelin throw title at the Zurich Diamond League 2026, with a winning throw of 92.07 metres. 

The victory marks Rumesh’s fourth consecutive Diamond League title, extending his remarkable dominance on the circuit.

Having previously competed at the Diamond League meets in Rome, Doha and Lausanne, Rumesh won the men’s javelin event at all three stages before completing a clean sweep in Zurich.

He also holds the best men’s javelin throw of the year, having produced a massive 92.62-metre throw in Rome earlier this year.

The latest victory further cements Rumesh Tharanga’s status as the world’s No. 1-ranked men’s javelin thrower.
