COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Customs has appointed a special committee to formulate a settlement mechanism for vehicles imported under Letters of Credit that were subsequently denied final customs clearance.
The move follows recommendations made by the Attorney General's Department calling for a reconsideration of decisions relating to the release of the affected vehicles.
Under the process outlined, the committee is required to inform the Court of Appeal of its proposed settlement before August 24.
