COLOMBO (News1st):The National Dengue Control Unit says 89,639 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka so far this year.
The highest number of cases has been reported from the Western Province, reporting 52.93% of the total.
65 people have died from dengue this year.
The highest monthly number of dengue cases was recorded in July, with 29,973 cases.
Meanwhile, 119 MOH divisions have been identified as high-risk areas for dengue.
Community Physician Specialist Dr. Prasheela Samaraweera of the National Dengue Control Unit has urged the public to continue keeping their surroundings clean, particularly amid the prevailing rainy weather.
